Aged 68, female, a Malaysian, was appointed as the Independent Non-Executive Chairman of the Board of Unimech Group Berhad (“UGB”) on 15 March 2018.
Dato’ Prof. Dr. See has a B.A. (Hons), post-graduate Diploma in Education and a Master of Education from Universiti Malaya. She holds a PhD. from the Ohio State University (“OSU”). Her exemplary professional work has been recognized with the 100 Buckeyes award from the OSU Alumni Association Inc. in 2012, the Susan Jones Sears Distinguished Alumni Award in 2009, and the Alumni Citizenship Award in 2007. She was inducted into the International Adult Continuing Education Hall of Fame, University of Oklahoma Outreach in 2016.
She has served on the Malaysian Board of Counsellors, the regulatory body for counsellors in Malaysia for 12 years and was a member of the advisory committee to the board for 8 years. She is recognized for her expertise in her field and has held many high positions in a number of international professional organizations. She is also often invited to speak locally and overseas.
Currently, Dato’ Prof. Dr. See is a Consultant Educational and Counselling Psychologist at Loh Guan Lye Specialists Centre. She is an adjunct Professor at the University Tunku Abdul Rahman and an Industry Advisor at Quest International University.
Her academic affiliations included a professorship at Universiti Sains Malaysia (“USM”) from 1998 to 2016. Her final position at USM was as its Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Industry and Community Network) from 2011 to 2016. Prior to this, she held the Quality Assurance Manager post from 2010 to 2014. Aside from her academic, research and management responsibilities, she maintains an active clinical practice and community service.
She is an Independent Non-Executive Director of Vitrox Corporation Berhad.
Aged 75, male, a Malaysian, is the Executive Director/Chief Executive Officer (“CEO”) of UGB. He was appointed to the Board of UGB on 6 March 2000 as Executive Chairman and Managing Director and was re-designated to CEO on 18 March 2013.
Dato’ Seri Lim is the founder of Unimech Group. He has good business acumen and entrepreneurship and has more than forty-eight (48) years of experience in manufacturing, trading and engineering in relation with the valves, pipe fitting, burner application and steam engineering systems. His invaluable business experience and vast management knowledge coupled with the business connections established in Malaysia and overseas over the years, has led the Group to become one of the main players in the industry. He is responsible for the long-term strategic planning and development of the Group’s goals and objectives. He also sits on the Board of several private limited companies. He is presently a General Committee Member of Penang Chinese Chamber of Commerce. He also sits on the Board of Directors of various schools and associations in Penang.
He is the brother of Mr. Lim Kim Guan and the father of Mr. Lim Jun Lin.
Aged 70, male, a Malaysian, is the Executive Director/Deputy CEO of UGB. He was appointed to the Board of UGB on 6 March 2000. He obtained a Bachelor Degree of Science (Hons) from University Science of Malaysia. He has been with UGB Group for more than forty (40) years and has been instrumental in developing the growth of UGB through his vast experience and technical expertise in marketing strategies and product development. He is the Managing Director of Unimech (Shanghai) Co. Ltd.
He is the brother of Dato’ Seri Lim Cheah Chooi and uncle of Mr. Lim Jun Lin.
Aged 71, male, a Malaysian, is an Executive Director of UGB. He was appointed to the Board of UGB on 6 March 2000. With over forty-two (42) years of experience in the Group, he has gained vast experience in the maintenance, installation and testing of valves and piping systems. He is responsible for the overall business operation of the Group and the southern region of Peninsular Malaysia. He is the Managing Director of Unimech Engineering (J.B.) Sdn. Bhd. and sits on the Board of several private limited companies.
Aged 50, male, a Malaysian, is an Executive Director of UGB. He was appointed to the Board on 10 August 2005. He obtained a Bachelor Degree in Commerce from Deakin University, Australia. He commenced his career in 1997 by joining UGB as a Manager. He also oversees the business development of overseas subsidiaries and manufacturing operations of the Group. He sits on the Board of several private limited companies.
He is the son of Dato’ Seri Lim Cheah Chooi and nephew of Mr. Lim Kim Guan.
Aged 58, male, a Malaysian, is an Executive Director of UGB. He was appointed to the Board of UGB on 4 January 2010. He is the Chairman of the Risk Management Committee. He graduated from University of Malaya with Bachelor of Accounting (Honour) and obtained accounting professional qualification from Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He holds a Master Degree in Business Administration from Northern University of Malaysia. He is a Chartered Accountant registered with Malaysian Institute of Accountants.
He started his career with Bank Negara Malaysia from 1991 to 1995 and had gained the banking experience in Foreign Exchange Administration Department and Banking Supervision Department. During 1995 to 2006, he was attached to public listed companies on Bursa Securities where his job responsibilities were mainly in the areas of accounting, finance and corporate management. He joined UGB as Group Accountant in 2006. Presently he is the Group General Manager of UGB and sits on the Board of several private limited companies. He is an Independent Non-Executive Director of Eurospan Holdings Berhad, Hextar Healthcare Berhad and Seal Incorporated Berhad.
Aged 53, male, a Japanese, is a Non-Independent Non-Executive Director of UGB. He was appointed to the Board of UGB on 27 June 2023.
Mr. Nozawa graduated from Ritsumeikan University, Kita-Ku, Kyoto, Japan with a Bachelor of Social Sciences.
He joined KITZ Corporation in 1996. He was appointed as Indochina Regional Sales and Marketing Manager in 2011. In 2015, he was posted to Thailand where he assumed the position of Managing Director of KITZ Valve & Actuation (Thailand) Co., Ltd until 2018.
In 2019, Mr Nozawa was appointed as the Chairman of KITZ Corporation of Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd., KITZ Valve & Actuation Vietnam Co.,Ltd. and KITZ Valve & Actuation (Thailand) Co. Ltd. In addition, he was also appointed as the Managing Director of KITZ Valve & Actuation Singapore Pte. Ltd and KITZ Valve & Actuation (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. Besides the above, he is also a Director of Micro Pneumatics Pvt. Ltd. He was recently promoted to General Manager, International Business Development Department of KITZ Corporation in Tokyo, Japan.
Aged 73, male, a Malaysian, is a Senior Independent Non-Executive Director of UGB. He was appointed to the Board on 1 August 2016. He is the Chairman of the Audit Committee and a member of the Nominating Committee, Risk Management Committee and Remuneration Committee.
Mr. Teh obtained his Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia in 1975 and practiced as a Chartered Accountant in public accounting firm between 1981 and 1995. In 1996, he joined a stock broking firm as a dealer’s representative. He has over 20 years of experience in corporate consultancy, financial management and auditing. He is presently a member of the Penang Chinese Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants. He also sits on the Board of several private limited companies.
Aged 59, male, a Malaysian, is an Independent Non-Executive Director of UGB. He was appointed to the Board of UGB on 1 October 2013. He is the Chairman of the Nominating Committee and Remuneration Committee and a member of the Audit Committee and Risk Management Committee.
Mr. Khairilanuar graduated from Institute of Technology Mara in 1988. He was trained as an entrepreneur by Medec unit of UITM in 1989 and started to manage a petrol kiosk. Subsequently, he established his own transport company supplying bonded trucks to multinational freight forwarder in Penang Free Trade Zone. He was a committee member of UMNO Youth in the Kepala Batas Division from 2001 until 2004 and treasurer from 2004 to 2008 in the Youth Wing. He was a committee member of UMNO in the Kepala Batas Division from 2004 until 2013.
Aged 56, female, a Malaysian, is an Independent Non-Executive Director of UGB. She was appointed to the Board of UGB on 21 June 2018. She is a member of the Audit Committee, Remuneration Committee and Nominating Committee.
Ms. Khoo graduated from the University of London with a Bachelor of Law LLB (Hons) in 1994 and completed her Certificate of Legal Practice CLP (Malaya) (Hons) in 1995. She was called to the Malaysian Bar Council and admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of High Court of Malaya on 26 October 1996.
Ms. Khoo read at the Chamber of Mr. Lim Peng Siew of Messrs Lim Huck Aik & Co. She practised as legal assistant at Messrs San & Associates (1996 to 2001), Messrs May Chan Eiza & Co. (December 2001 to May 2002) and Messrs Ghazi & Lim (June 2002 to May 2003).
She also practised at Messrs Su & Khoo where she was a partner from 1 November 2003 until 31 December 2004. Subsequently, she joint partnership with Messrs Tan Chia Min, Leong & Khoo from 1 January 2005 to 31 December 2006.
Ms. Khoo was a partner of Messrs Leong Khoo & Co. from 1 January 2007 to 12 September 2019.
She is also an Independent Non-Executive Director of MMS Ventures Berhad.
